I heard about this blog from a gal at work and decided to check it out. It is heart wrenching.
Most of you (if I have any readers?) know that I lost my mom to Colon cancer when I was 10 years old. This may be why I feel drawn to this girl, but her faith just amazes me. It is so touching. Please remember her in your prayers.

You know it's Fall when...
I put out my pumpkin "welcome" sign.

So tiny, so sweet! awww. Note: they are wearing Preemie clothes here!
Here we are today, same outfits and attempting the same pose.... buuut it was a little bit more difficult this time around. .... They are wearing 12 month clothes here... what a difference a year makes. They are on the small end for their age, but they are on the charts :)

Just a little update...
People always say Life is a funny thing but really -Time is a funny thing. Where does it go? It is almost October and my girls have been 1 for almost 2 weeks?!! Wow! The older we get the faster the days go. I try very hard to savor time now that I am a mommy. Because I know that in a blink they will be 25 and on their own.
Lately, Lillian likes to say "dada" and I will say "say MOmma" Lillian "Dada da da da" hmm. She also likes to say " thank you"- yes a polite little child. She likes to shake her head "No" really fast. She is very curious and is always trying to figure things out and study them. She continues to LOVE animals.She likes to make you laugh and cheese it up... by closing her eye tight , scrunching up her cute little nose and smiling. Really- she could make your heart burst with joy. She doesn't have a single tooth. She pulls up and tries to walk. She will walk if I hold both hands, but gets anxious and drops to her knees.
Joelle- My sweet little mini me. She babbles but her favorite word is "momma mamamama!!"
She LOVES "peek- a- boo, where is Joelle- there she is!" She will hold up her blanket or her baby doll or stuffed dog in front of her face(or whatever is in her hand) and play until you are tired of playing but it is truely her favorite game. She will shake her head no and take any toy of Lillian's because she wants to play with it. She loves riding on her new toy and will sit on it and scream until you push her, then when you push her she will giggle until you are laughing with her. She loves her blankie and jumping up and down in her crib giggling...while lillian is asleep. She could make your tears sing! Ha. She is starting to get her front bottom left tooth. She will pullup to walk and if she is in the right mood I can get her to hold one of my hands and walk beside me.

1 year! We made it!
The first birthday party was a huge success! We had over 40 people!!! Family and close friends. I felt a little scattered, I didn't get pictures of some of the things I wanted pictures of such as: Kelsie (my helper!), the pretty balloons outside, and the cupcake tower with all different kinds of cupcakes on it, more pictures of everyone that came, and a few other shots that I can't even think of at this moment. But Here is a glimpse of the party... and a look back that brings me to tears.
This is the birthday sign that we put on our front door. I love it. A girl that I met through blog world made it and she did a fabulous job, I plan to use it for years to come.

The day we brought the girls home, they were almost 3 weeks old then.
Miss Lillian, one of the first times I got to hold her since she was born. I was able to hold the girls just a few moments after my medication wore off from the c-section, by then they were a few hours old, after that I was not able to hold them for over 24 hours because my blood pressure would not go down! I wasn't even able to shower for over 2 days. I was very sad. The girls were both only 4lbs 8 oz.
Miss Joelle. I love this picture of her, so sweet. The girls were on feeding tubes and monitors for what seemed to be an eternity! Well, this year has already come and gone ... and here we are today. Lillan is 19lbs 6oz and 29 1/2 inches long. Joelle is 18.2 lbs and 29 inches long....and I am pretty sure they are actually fraternal...despite what all the doctors have said previously :)
We have hair long enough to put in bows now! Can't believe it.

The cupcake table.... I didnt get a chance to take a picture of it with all the different kinds of cupcakes. I had 5 different kinds!! I ordered 3 kinds from Delish ( Triple chocolate, lemon berry and strawberry shortcake). I made White and dark chocolate. I had the frosting color coded so people would know the difference. I made a sign of all the flavors.
We have hair long enough to put in bows now! Can't believe it.

Pink=strwberry shortcake Yellow=lemon berry Lavender=triple chocolate Blue= dark chocolate and Lime green =white. They turned out cute but I kinda became a cupcake nazi because I didn't want people eating them before the cake smash... a few people snuck in and grabbed them anyway...which was really frustrating for me ...but hindsight... it really didn't matter- we were blessed to have so many family and friends that care about us!

A surprise guest came! My Grandma! I didn't think she would be able to make it because she is having hip surgery soon but she surprised me! I was so excited and happy to see her, what a special surprise!
The girls opening presents and everyone playing in the back ground :)
I love them sooo much! How couldn't you? Oh...btw we put "your presence is gift enough" on the invites but people brought gifts anyway. The girls received some great gifts. Mommy's favorite was the gift card to buy carseats! Thanks aunt Jessi and Mandy!

He has stirred my soul...
and I am overwhelmed to know such looove... do you know that song? We sing it at Church and....well, it pretty much sums up my life right now. God is really working on my heart and my thoughts. The last few services at chuch leave me thinking, pondering, wondering, evaluating..and realizing what life is about and what I need to work on as well. Yes, I know its hard to believe that I'm not perfect..HA!
These services also leave me excited about God and all that he has done for me, you know, the things I take for granted...
Last Tuesday we had the day off together so we went to the KC Zoo...
The polar bear was the best part! The rest of the zoo needs some work
This is Lillian and me, she loves animals. The bear would swim up to the glass and push off... if you look closely you can see his enormous paws.
It was soo cool. I don't know who enjoyed it more ...me or the girls...HA!
The rest are a few random shots from the weekend...

The girls love the front door. ... Joelle was waiting for a page as she taps my pager against the glass..lovely. ( This was my weekend/holiday to be on call... but luckily as of Sunday night I have not been called out.. just one more day to go!
Brian eats ice cream of some sort every night... and he gave the girls a taste of his popsicle. They weren't quite sure what to think of it, but kept opening their mouths like little birds :)
These services also leave me excited about God and all that he has done for me, you know, the things I take for granted...
