Today is...........

My 27th Birthday. I actually keep forgetting it is my birthday. I almost feel too old to celebrate. I had a wonderful day.
These beautiful babies stayed with Grandma and Grandpa S. It was soooooooo soooo HARD to leave them but I did it. I did it for my husband. We haven't spent a lone time together in a long long time.

First we ate at Nick & Jake's. I had lots of gift cards from Christmas and my birthday so I used them for shopping. At first I couldn't find anything and told B that it would have been better to have Gymboree, Baby Gap and Janie & Jack gift cards because I would rather buy things for my Cupcake and Lily Pie. But I managed to find a few things.....

While I was shopping my adorable Nieces and Nephew called and sang Happy birthday... it was the CUTEST THING EVER!
Vera Bradley sends you a $20 gift card to use the month of your birthday. I chose the adorable flip flops in "Sittin' in a tree" I only had to pay the $4 difference. Yay!
My BIL (bro in law) gave me an AE gift card. I bought a navy sundress/coverup and a white skirt that... I probably won't be able to wear to work but will be cute for summer! Then I used my bday money for the purse and B paid the difference. The only thing I asked for was these cupcakes from this bakery (www.delishstjo.com). YUM!

Overall a WONDERFUL birthday. Now time to officially start planning the next big EVENT...here is a clue... 1!

FOUND!!!!

The lost memory card has been found! I repeat FOUND!!! YAY! I was thrilled when my aunt called and said it was in one of her chair cushions, my little cousin found it. It must have fallen out of my camera case when I was there. I am soooo happy! I have prayed and prayed about this, I am not catholic but I even prayed to a Saint because I was so desperate and that is what one of my Hospice patients told me to do. When I pick it up at my aunts I will post some belly picts hahaa! Then I am going to print off the pictures and make a scrap book for my babies! God is good!

Through my whole pregnancy I was told I was having "identical twins." Then the girls were born and to my surpise looked nothing alike. Lillian looked like Brian and Joelle looked like me. I was too out of it in the hospital to remember to have the girls swabbed to test their DNA to see if the placenta had fused and see if they were actually fraternal. So at their 6 week check up I asked the neonatologist and she said if the placenta fused then it would just look like a normal placenta. She said that their blood type was the same and they weighed the exact same and were almost exactly the same length...they were "more than likely identical." I wanted a definite answer. So I have researched it online and obsessed over it for the past 4 months. Finally I remembered to ask the girls pediatrician about testing them and she discouraged me from that because of the cost. So she offered to send off for the Placenta Pathology report. I got the results today.....


The report says the placenta is a "twin diamniotic monochorionic placenta." This means diamniotic twins have two amniotic sacs. -Which the girls did. Monoamniotic(shared placenta) twins are always monozygotic which means IDENTICAL. With a few exceptions where the blastocysts fuse. Anyway ...after carefully reading the report over and over I realized it is worded in a way that does not confirm or deny that the placenta fused. SO I came to the conclusion which the doctor highlighted for me...Identical. Apparently the only real way to know is to have the DNA swab which I am not paying for(at this time...we are still paying for their birth). I also discovered after thorough research that Identical twins can look different. They do not always look alike because one of the twins can get different genes from each parent which is what happened in our case, also I have discovered that position in the womb can also influence them. So I am just going with everything everyone has said...they are Identical...BUT they look different. It happens.

I don't know about you all but I have Cabin fever so bad... I want to drag out my spring clothes to dress up in so I can feel a bit better...but... let's face it... I don't even know if my spring clothes will fit me this year because last year at this time I was pregnant. Anyway. More snow this weekend. SURPRISE. We have been shut inside the house all weekend. I got out a little bit yesterday to make a Target run and I forgot a few things so I need to go again but I don't think that will happen....

The girls have been fussy this weekend. I think they have cabin fever too. I haven't been able to get anything done. They have worn me out. I am not much of a tv watcher. There is NOTHING on. Same re-run lifetime movies. Same abc family movies that I have seen. I am going crazy. Brian is off this weekend...buuut he has been down in the basement cleaning things... which is nice for me. Anyway. I. am. BORED.

I have already decided that my day off on Tuesday I am going to our fancy renovated Mall with-no stores- and I am going to put it to good use by walking in circles. I am going to go after their mid morning feeding and burn some calories. Then maybe since I am going to be able to get some exercise. I will be able to fit into my spring clothes that I haven't worn in so long.... thats all for now.

Lets be honest.............

The Bachelor. Do you watch it? I have just started watching it again this season after taking a break for a few years. Here are my thoughts....

1. I like Jake as the bachelor...he is cute and seems genuine.
2. I thought all of the hometown dates were awkward.
3. How cute is Tenley?
4. Vienna...in my opinion...young, immature, not ready to settle down, enjoys drama.
5. How is Tenley ready to move on after just a short time?
6. Though I love little Tenley, you would have to be blind not to see the fireworks between him and Vienna.
7. I want him to pick Tenley
8. I am pretty sure he is picking Vienna because he asked her what ring she would like! :(

This is me being silly... I am learning to embrace my pale skin... the doctor told me .."no more tanning bed."
Below is our festive Valentine's outfits....Lily's butt and my new Target Shirt...Love it!... though I am honestly not a fan of Valentine's day... we felt the need to be festive anyway.

The girls valentines present! A bumbo chair! I have been wanting to get these for a long long time but Brian said "we have too much junk already and we don't need it." Well I went and bought one at Target last night after work... they love it. I plan on buying another one in purple :)

Look at these sweet little outfits! I love them...they are velour... I bought them at Babies R Us last summer on clearance for $10! Originally like $30... I fell in love with them. So after I got them dressed this morning I thought.... I am tired of staying home....soo we decided to go out for the very FIRST time!

Two beautiful babies -check *2 carseats -check* bear, bunny and binkies...check check check...

First we went to see Daddy at work @ Lowe's. I had trouble getting the stroller to fold the top seat down so I could get the carseats in... and some guy was sitting in his van laughing at me as I struggled for about 10 minutes... annoying! But eventually we made it into the store. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. People stared but I tried to keep them covered...(yes I have a major fear of GERMS!.. the NICU Docs put the fear in me that if they got sick they could die or be back in the NICU). So needless to say I am anal about it... and surprisingly when one of Brian's co workers touched Lily's face with his dirty little hands ... I didn't yell or flip out I just said "oh we better go." then I said a quick prayer "God- please don't let Lily get sick because that man touched her with his dirty hands!"

Second stop Hobby Lobby. I needed some scrapbook supplies... this was a little interesting... people stared and said "oh my you are brave." Brave?! why? I have two children not two beast.

Again I had trouble with the stroller when I got out to the parking lot... I couldn't get the carseats out of the stroller they were locked in so tight! Thank goodness a girl I know was there and she helped me get them out

A year ago today- 2/9

A year ago today I found out that I was pregnant. with one (or so I thought) of these little loves. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I woke up,nauseated. Got in the shower, threw up, called into work and began to come to terms with the idea that I had the flu and would not be able to drive to Iowa for my friends Mothers funeral. :( I told Brian "well I guess I could be pregnant bc I feel awful, go buy a pregnancy test." So then Brian comes home with an old fashioned pregnancy test...surprised they still made them that way...(would show pics but I lost my memory card..more about that later)...So I peed on the test and one line instantly showed up. I threw it in the trash...(I knew I wasn't really pregnant). So I figured I had the flu. So I slept most of the morning and in the afternoon I got my fill of Lifetime movies, while watching the "Dilley sextuplets" I had one of those little voices say ..."maybe just to be sure I should check the pregnancy test again." So I went into the batroom and the pregnancy test was laying on top... I looked at it... and did a double take and then jumped up and down... there were TWO lines!! I didn't wait long enough for the second line earlier. So I thought...well I better go get more test to make sure. So I went to Walgreens and bought two more test...instantly positive! I went to the flower shop and bought a bunch of pink and blue balloons and put them in the bathroom and lined all three pregnancy test up. I called Brian and told him he HAD to come home for his dinner break because something was wrong with the bathroom sink HA! So he came home and went into the bathroom and looked at the balloons...didn't get it at first then he saw the test and said "are you serious" and I jumped up and down and said YES! Then months of sickness followed for the both of us. It's funny because I instantly thought...it's a girl... but I never thought "twins."
I had pictures to document all of these moments I took a picture of my then flat tummy and documented each month ...well the memory card with all of those pictures has disappeared, I have prayed and cried and prayed and prayed to find it because I hadn't printed them yet and I still havent found it. I am so upset because I documented all of the pictures for the girls to see. So sad... PLEASE if you think of it pray that I find it! Please!....
