curtains and rambling

First off ... I hate my camera... it just doesn't take good pictures :(

Second: My i-phone crashed and I have been without a phone since Friday...and I am kind of enjoying it... it is freeing ya know?

Third: I have started doing "no spend January"which I actually started the last week of December... its my own personal plan to save money. Here is how I am doing .So far I have done AWESOME at not eating out... just once last week because I didn't get lunch until 3:30 because of a tough case I had to work on...but I did have cash instead of using my debit card..bonus for me. I have only bought a pair of leggings for the twirls and stuff to finish off their curtains... do you think I am doing ok? I mean I think I could do better , but I have been planning to do these curtains for a year and the leggings... well I can take those back. My only rules for this is to a. Not eat out unless it is business or invited by friends. b. Not to spend money or buy anything unless it will make life easier or it is a necessity... if you read this... let me know if you think I need to do better... motivation from others is always a great help .
Fourth: My MIL came over Saturday night to help me with the curtains... and when I say help I really mean she does most of the work :( Which really isn't the plan but always how it works out because she has the sewing machine and experience. I bought the curtain panels on clearance at Target a year ago with intensions of finishing them up... but didn't happen until now. Here is the finished product... we just have to hang them on rods in the twirs room.

We started with White panels. I added the green dot fabric which I purchased at Joann's

I bought extra large pink and purple ric rac and ribbon at Hobby Lobby . I actually bought like 8 rolls of ribbon because I didn't know what I wanted and I was going to put several lines of ribbon down the front of the curtain but .....it didn't look good and it wasnt the easies to sew on the curtain. I tried sewing and messed it up so the MIL took over that and I did the pinning :)

I bought the rods, we just have to have the time to put them up... I am really excited about them... :)
